Malene Teilgaard Laugesen was born and raised in Denmark. She studied fashion design at the
Danish School of Design. She began her professional career working in animation and went on to
become a freelance illustrator and art director. She currently lives in New Zealand where she has
just completed her Masters of Fine Arts at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch.
As well as exhibiting and selling her work she has had books published in Denmark, New Zealand,
Australia and the US.
